Isolation and Separation!

Simple Truth

Many people are finding themselves isolated and separated from the world these days, some of them are much like John the Baptist; John the Baptist didn’t see eye to eye with the world and eventually found himself isolated and imprisoned because of the things that he believed in. It appears that John the Baptist whilst in prison would have had prison visitors, his friends and disciples would visit him there and inform him of the outside world and give him news etc. and there was news going around those days of a great prophet who had raised someone from the dead.

John the Baptist had always pointed his disciples to Jesus and had taught his disciples that Jesus and the Kingdom of God had indeed come and so these disciples of John told him of the latest news that was going around that people were saying “…That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.” People were saying this because Jesus had raised someone from the dead and the rumour of Jesus had gone throughout all Judea and all the region round about so John, even though he must have been feeling isolated, downhearted, and discouraged, and perhaps even doubtful at times, appears to have still exercised caution upon hearing all of this news (like we do these days), and so:

“…calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? When the men were come unto him (Jesus), they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight. Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.” (Luke 7:19-23)

This is all interesting here for our day and age and for those people that are so separated from the world that they have the same sense of isolation that people like John the Baptist would have had. He so needed to be reminded that Jesus was out there somewhere, he of course knew that Jesus was out there somewhere but as isolated as he John-the-baptistwas he still exercised caution even though he still needed to hear of and from the “Real Jesus” and not some fake Jesus as a substitute for the real thing, he no-doubt knew that fake Jesus’ would eventually come and even back then when Jesus was actually there the spirit of antichrist would have been at work with fake lying signs and wonders etc. and so, you could say that he was trying the spirits like we are told to do and of course the Spirit that was on Jesus was indeed the Holy Spirit, John himself had seen the Holy Spirit coming down upon Jesus in bodily form so this was most definitely Jesus and not some other fake Jesus – teaching another gospel Jesus – because He had the fruits, people were definitely getting healed and even raised from the dead etc. and John’s disciples even saw this with their own eyes! And what’s also interesting here is that Jesus went on to talk about John and He said:

“…What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed (tall slender leaf) shaken with the wind? But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in king’s courts. But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.” Luke 7:25,26)

What Jesus was saying here is to not to be fooled by a person’s outward appearance. A lot of people these days are looking for some smooth, swathe, fancy, big car, big house, world travelling, highly educated, rich family background, miracle working preacher, to show them the real Jesus but it’s best to do as Jesus said, don’t look at the outward appearance, John the Baptist was dressed in camel’s skins with a leather belt wrapped around his waist and all he ate was locusts and wild honey and on top of this, he came out of the wilderness and not some high-falluting bible college! And so a lot of people received the words of Jesus when He talked about John the Baptist but we go on to read in the same chapter “But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the council of God against themselves, being not baptised of him (John the Baptist).”

So all being said, we have to be really careful, or better said, really prayerful, about who we listen to these days as there are many many people preaching another Jesus though on the other hand there are many people sayings all the right things and they say they have these miracles but with a lot of these miracles we can’t see them because they are apparently spiritual in nature and therefore we are expected to take their word for it and there are others who apparently heal but it turns out that they just simply whip people up into a frenzy and so people momentarily forget their illnesses etc. and appear as healed. It’s best we all stick to Jesus, a miraculous Jesus Who although we read of Him healing two thousand years ago (not to say He can’t still heal today!), He is still alive today spiritually in the hearts of millions of His followers.

On the subject of teaching another Jesus, this woman here has some interesting things to say. We don’t know everything about this woman but we like and agree with what she’s saying here, that’s not to say that she’s getting everything right and it’s not to say that she’s getting everything wrong either, often with us all it’s a question of balance so God help us all to find likeminded people who are truly coming from the spiritual and from the Real Jesus! Don’t listen to us and don’t even listen to her but listen to whatever Jesus tells you through whoever He wishes to talk to you through!

Yeah, it’s because there really is only skeleton crews left on some of the best ships and when numbers thin out that much then even the shepherds and leaders jump ship!
