Back in the days of Nebuchadnezzar, governments were run with psychic phenomenon at the top so a king would ask his psychics for advise. Why? Because they were fully aware of spiritual phenomenon and clearly understood that there was reality and decisions to be made as coming from that realm. This was true of Egypt, it was also true of Assyria because they listened to Jonah, one of God’s prophets, and it was also true of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom.
Nebuchadnezzar had a psychic, or better said, a prophet called Daniel at the top of his government, he also had a lot of other psychics at the top; magicians, astrologers and sorcerers etc. The problem with all of these other psychics other than Daniel of course was that they were too often corrupt, and so corrupt that it turns out that a lot of them weren’t even psychics at all! The big showdown came when King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream and so he called in all of his psychics, astrologers, and sorcerers etc. and he asked them to tell him what the dream meant, and as an acid test and to make sure they weren’t lying or making it up he asked them to tell him the dream also, and if they didn’t tell him the dream and the interpretation and being the kind of crazy king that he was, he threatened them with being cut into pieces and their houses to be made into a dunghill. Well, this really did weed out the weaklings and all the liars amongst them because nobody could tell the king his dream, let alone tell him the interpretation!
So there was only one thing left for all of these so-called wise men and dreamers and that was that they should all be put to death and so we read that “…Arioch the captain of the king’s guard…was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon.” (Daniel 2:14) Daniel upon hearing all of this quickly intervened and in short, asked for a little more time from the king so that he and his friends could desperately cry out to God to be given the king’s dream and the interpretation thereof and of course it turned out that the only one in the whole kingdom of Babylon who was telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, was Daniel.
This story is very interesting because in today’s world and particularly with the invention of the Internet, YouTube (MeTube) etc. we have all of these so-called psychics, wise men and prophets coming out of the woodwork so to speak and let’s face it, the whole thing has become a laughing stock and sad to say, it’s no wonder that they have science at the top instead of psychics because time and time again these psychics have been proven to be nothing but a bunch of lunatics. You kind of find yourself thinking that though Nebuchadnezzar was a real extremist and a little crazy himself too, well at least he got things done, he certainly knew how to crack the whip on the butts of all these so-called psychics and surely these psychics would have found themselves thanking God that there was one sure psychic among them otherwise they would all have been cut into little pieces and their houses would have been made a dunghill. (Dan. 2:5).
Another good point that also comes to mind here is that Daniel the prophet was a prophet whose dreams and visions have always come true, even to the letter. God didn’t only give Daniel dreams and visions for his day thousands of years ago but He also gave him dreams and visions for our day and age so seeing as Daniel has always had such a damn good track record then surely we should be looking more into the prophecies of Daniel than anybody else, other than Jesus of course. It was Jesus Himself who told us to look into the prophecies of Daniel in order to understand the last days that we are now living in and interestingly enough, it was Jesus Himself who appeared to Daniel and you can read about this in Daniel 10.5,6. Also curiously enough, it was Jesus Himself who appeared to Daniel back then and He was also seen walking upon the waters of the river back then (Daniel 12:6-10) and the subject of conversation was our day and age, the last days!
