Most of us if we think about it long enough will see that we largely base our future upon our past, we look to the past and we see what did or didn’t work out and so we walk accordingly. I’ve heard it said that Winston Churchill once said: “He that doesn’t study history is in danger or reliving it.” There is also a statement saying much the same thing in the book of Corinthians written by St Paul. St Paul was a character of the New Testament and he was saying to the people of Corinth, speaking of the Old Testament saints and things that happened to them: “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples (examples): and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come”(1 Corinthians 10:11) so Paul was in effect saying that the Old Testament is a kind of a history book and we need to look back on history to see how things played out; if they did good in the sight of the Lord then things would play out well for them but if they did evil in the sight of the Lord then things would go seriously wrong for them.
If we go way back into the Old Testament to Genesis chapter 5 and particularly at the end of that chapter then we read that Noah kind of steps onto the world stage and we also read that he is now five hundred years old and he has three sons, Shem, Ham, & Japheth. Just about everybody has heard of Noah and most people know that he built a giant boat because of a flood that was soon to come. Well, in the next chapter we are given some kind of background as to the kind of world that Noah was stepping into at this time period of his life: so what kind of a world was Noah stepping into? Well, we read at the very beginning of chapter 6:
“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply upon the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.” (Verses 1 & 2).
When your read these two verses you might think that this all sounds well and good, you may picture handsome young men marrying lovely fair looking girls but the problem is that this doesn’t appear to be the case, particularly because these sons of God were not human beings and these fair maidens were not necessarily pure fair maidens either. In the next verse this is made quite clear because it says:
“And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years” (Vs 3).
So the overall picture you get here is that there was a very growing influence in mankind’s affairs that was coming from the spiritual dimension, so much so that these sons of God, or in other words fallen angels, were somehow or other able to physically manifest themselves to these daughters of men that were fair to look upon. Clearly there was some kind of sexual attraction here and you do wonder of course if there was some kind of agenda too because not only were they attracted to these women because they were fair to look upon but they also took them as wives because they were selective about them as it says they took them wives of all which they “chose” so clearly the picture you get here is that somehow or other these sons of God or in other words fallen angels were living amongst mankind with their somewhat beautiful wives. You might find yourself thinking that these women had no choice in the matter because it says they “took them” wives of all which they chose but it does appear that these daughters of men did have some choice in the matter because we read that it says: “…the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh.” I take this to mean that God was not going with mankind (this including women also) in all of this because clearly God is saying that His Spirit will not always strive with man because he is “flesh” in this matter. Flesh in this matter doesn’t necessarily mean flesh and blood in this matter but “flesh” more than often in the bible means: corrupt. So mankind or in this case womankind was also corrupt in this matter so the picture you get is that God was saying that this isn’t good, clearly mankind is now interacting with fallen angels on a physical level and he in this same sense is largely to blame. It in some ways reminds you of the story of Eve and the Serpent (Lucifer); Eve was no-doubt fair to look upon and the serpent appears to have selected Eve as being the one that he wanted to work upon in getting her to eat the forbidden fruit; Eve clearly had a choice in this matter but the serpent being the more dominant here beguiled Eve into eating the forbidden fruit – beguiled in a lot of ways means that he charmed her into it, he impressed her with his greatness and his power and his charm and his beauty (handsome); he also told Eve that if she ate of the forbidden fruit then she would become as a goddess because the serpent had said to her “ye shall be as gods.”
St John in the New Testament in the same sense talked of this kind of thing when he spoke of “…the lusts of the flesh, and the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world” (1 John 2:16) so again, the picture you get is that these fair maidens were tempted by these sons of God and were going along with it and so they were taken as wives so they in this same sense married these sons of God and bare children to them. Also we have just read that the Lord said: “…yet shall his days be an hundred and twenty years” so clearly, because mankind (woman) had corrupted himself and was flesh in this matter, flesh being corrupt flesh that was going against God and not with God and so God was warning mankind that he now has one hundred and twenty years left to change his ways so in other words, God was going to continue to hold His hand out to mankind in the hope that he was going to change and if he didn’t change then there would come a flood which would wipe out mankind for his sins. Well, these fair maidens didn’t appear to have listened or heeded to any of this kind of talk or warning of walking with God or not because we read on and it says:
“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto (had sex with) the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” (Vs 4).
So the children that these women were giving birth to were much larger than normal children and they grew up to be giants. Moses is the one who wrote the book of Genesis and he says in so many words that not only were there giants in the world in those days before the flood but there were also giants in the world after that (after the flood). In Moses day after the flood we have an idea of how tall some of these giants were because it talks of a king called Og; king Og’s bed it says was up to fourteen feet long (Deuteronomy 3:11) so I think it is reasonable to suggest that these giants were somewhere around fourteen feet or thereabout. So not only were these children that these women gave birth to larger than normal children and grew up to be giants but also as we just read in verse 4 it says: “…the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” So, it’s quite a picture you get here of the days of Noah before the flood, you have a kind of a hierarchy of fallen angels parading around as gods no-doubt and the women who married them parading around as goddesses and their children who became mighty men which were of old, men of renown so in other words in a world where might was no-doubt right these giants no-doubt excelled and ruled the roost as they say, perhaps they were also like King Og in that they became kings and were treated like royalty. It says they became men of renown and the word “renown” in the Oxford dictionary means: the condition of being known or talked about by many people; famous, influential, important or powerful people; basically, anybody who is influential and is looked up to. And so we read on to verse 5 where it says:
“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Vs 5).
So again, none of this appears to have turned out good and it reminds you of today’s world in that you have a definite spiritual influence behind everything and everyone these days. If you look at the Music Industry for instance and particularly at the female Pop singers then you can clearly see that a lot of these singers are clearly what you might say, to use a modern phrase, “up for it!”
They are doing their best and upmost to entice these spiritual influences in, you could very well say that they have already been chosen and selected by fallen angels that clearly exist in the spiritual dimension presently so in this same sense you could say that these modern day sons of God or fallen angels have taken as many as they choose. A lot of these singers are clearly into the flesh in the corrupt sense of the word “flesh” and no-doubt have the kind of qualities that these fallen angels would be looking for and so they in this same sense select them, choose them, and take them, and put them in high positions amongst mankind and they become highly popular in the world and in this same sense they are people of renown and are therefore influential and are having a highly corrupting influence upon our children and mankind, so much so that mankind is now corrupting themselves with them. The same is true of bankers, politicians and businessmen and actors and writers of both men and women alike, this also including people in the religious sphere of influence and so we have the same kind of world today as we had back then in the days of Noah, so much so that these verses could very well apply to our world today as it did to their world back then and so we read in verses 11 & 12 that it says:
“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.” (Vs 11 & 12).
Jesus also said of our day that it would be like Noah’s day in that: “They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.” (Luke 17:27). Jesus was saying here that people were thinking back in the days of Noah that they were getting away with it all, all things in their minds were continuing as they were and nothing of any flood was coming as they saw it! God had given then one hundred and twenty years so God in His long-suffering was giving them plenty of time to change their ways but still they would mock on and the bad behavioural patterns would persist and in some ways things continued as they always had done in that they did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage so in their minds they were thinking, “why should we heed these dire warnings, we can continue in our corrupt ways and we can continue to get away with it!” Clearly they didn’t get away with it and all these things happened unto them back then for examples and are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come. We might not be facing a flood as they did but we have to face up to the facts that the world is becoming more and more corrupt and there is a corrupting influence out there that is coming to the world via fallen angels that exist in the spirit world and via the daughters of men along with the influential up there such as bankers, politicians and famous people etc. who are having a corrupting influence upon mankind so thank God that Jesus is soon to return to this earth with the flood of God’s judgements which will wipe all of this wickedness out and so bring in a new day and age of true righteousness and peace and plenty for all.
The best thing anyone can ever do is to go with the Son of God and not with these sons of men and fallen angels that bring us further and further into sin. Simply take Jesus into your heart and go with the Spirit of God that strives presently with man in order to get him to change; God’s hand is still out in this day and age in that there is still hope for change in a lot of people; Noah and his family clearly chose to walk with God and so they were all saved out of their coming flood of destruction; wouldn’t it be better if we were all married and given in marriage and chose to bring good children into the world and to teach them to walk in God’s ways and not in the ways of all of these corrupt Pop singers, corrupt politicians, corrupt businessmen, corrupt bankers, corrupt film stars, and even corrupt religionists – simply take Jesus into your heart and learn to walk in God’s ways and walk away from this corrupt world then one day you’ll go up like Noah did, the floods came in and Noah went up, the floods of God’s judgement will one day again come and those with Jesus in their hearts will go UP, UP, UP, AND AWAY from all of this WITH JESUS!!!
