Loss of Innocence!

Simple Truth

Gone are the days of yesterday, or better said, yesteryear. Back in the days of the above video you would have to say that people looked a lot sweeter and had a real sense of innocence about them and also back then, people were more positive and had more positive messages in their songs and even the films all had possitive happy endings. So what has gone so sadly wrong with us all? You would have to say that slowly over the years, people have become worse and worse and what has become more and more the norm is a loss of innocence.

Is it so wrong not to be guilty of any crimes? I think we all have to remember what the word innocent means – it simply means that you are not guilty, that you didn’t commit the crime! But now somehow or other, everything has been twisted around and everyone feels they have to go along with sin and the mad thing about all of this is that nobody seems to realise just how bad things have become or just how bad they really are or: just where is all of this bad behaviour taking us? People have become like little children who just want to throw the rule book out, they just want an excuse to get away from what is right. People can take God out of the equation and say the they don’t want anything to do with religion and then you see people who do this and you see what they really mean, what they really mean is that they don’t want anything to do with what’s right or wrong, they don’t want any rules in their lives and they say they are not religious as an excuse. They blame God and refuse to look in the mirror! It would be better if they did what they said, that ok, you don’t want God but what about right and wrong, what about doing unto others as you would have them do unto you? But no, what they really mean is that they don’t want either, they just want “no rules” full stop! Their very actions expose what they really want and what they really want is to “do what thou wilt,” “do as you please,” that’s the new religion these days and people need to stop and ask themselves just how bad they have become, or better said, just how wicked they are becoming – you can’t just throw all the rules away and expect everything to turn out fine, life doesn’t work that way, God doesn’t work that way. People should be thankful that God doesn’t work that way, they should be thankful that God is a long-suffering God, they should be thankful that deep down they know this. Deep down a lot of people know that God is a just God, that He is a fair God, that He is a forgiving God – so why don’t they just stop giving God a hard time and stop giving themselves a hard time and stop giving everybody else a hard time? Surely it’s gone too far now! People have pushed their luck too much!

I can hear the boat man calling your boat in, “number whatever your number is, your time is up!” Well, you look out there at the boats these days and they’re even refusing to come in when their time is up, these really are the days that all the prophets and saints prophesied of and what can all the people do? – those that really don’t want these days, those that feel they have to separate themselves from all of this and those that feel they have to go it alone – well, they can do as this old song says – Walk on with hope in their heart, or better said, they can walk on with Love in their heart! There are three great virtues that you hear about – Faith, Hope, & Love – the greatest of these is Love! So walk on with Love in your heart and you’ll never walk alone – God is Love, Jesus is Love!

What a wonderful world it would be if all the boats came in when called!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

  1. Jamie Carter says:

The past wasn’t exactly as innocent as people often make it appear. The past had the full variety of human sinfulness – out of wedlock pregnancies, racism, sexism, classism, people cheating one another, etc. It’s only through the magic of television that we’ve erased the social conflict of the 1950s and 60s while watching endless re-runs about the perfect family having it all.

  2. Thanks for that Jamie Carter. We are not trying to make a sweeping statement or to come over as naive, but I’m sure you would agree that people had a greater sense of right and wrong back then. These days you would surely have to agree that by contrast, sin has become a trifle treat to say the least, but yes, you have got a good point and of course there has always been sin in the world since the days of Adam & Eve and the sad fact is that things are becoming worse and worse.

  3. Interesting article. As a young adult I can say that society and the media (as a wise man once told me, “the art dictates the culture of a society) has raised much of my generation to hate God and be negative. I concede I have had issues with being negative (I was raised in a mostly atheistic family) and many of my values and morals have come from movies. Most people watch TV all the time; and when you spend that much time watching TV its going to effect your thinking and perspective. A lot of the hard rock music now glorifies suicide and murder and a lot of these kids are now dressing up like demons to mimic their favorite rock stars who sing suicide songs. Back in the 1950’s the most violent movie you’d get was when John Wayne shot a bandit with a gun to protect a damsel in distress, nowadays the hero kills entire families for no reason but to prove he is the toughest gangster and horror movies are even more sadistic. The media has changed a lot in 50 years and its definitely effecting society, you just have to look at how people behave. I guess if your person trying to move away from negativity and the demonic media, you just have to focus on more positive things like: the Bible, visiting websites like this and others that are similar, watching positive movies and just keeping things positive. Despite the sinful/demonic movies that are out there; there are some really good movies out there that really turn you toward God and positive energy. I recently watched a movie called “Me Before You” at the movies and it was absolutely fantastic and a real life changing experience for the best. Despite the negative media and bad movies, God can inspire some people to make Godly and beautiful movies that inspire people to be positive and loving; and this was definitely one of those movies. With iphones and technology the way it is today; I don’t think its possible to avoid the media, but we can prayerfully choose what to observe and what to ignore, I think that is the key to staying positive and focused on God. If your looking for a good movie for you and your family to watch I highly recommend “Me before you”; it will definitely have a positive effect on you and your family and inspire you to be better people. Finding good media is like digging for gold in the dirt, its rare and hard to find but it does exist!
