How To Disagree With Someone And Not Fall Out!

Simple Truth/Karen| I recently had an interesting exchange of views with a guy called Craig who is a Seventh Day Adventist. He made reference in one of his videos to Hebrews 10:26,27 of which I commented on. It turned into an interesting debate about Grace Vs Works and the keeping of the Law. Neither of us managed to change each other’s original viewpoints but it was an amicable discussion of which I enjoyed. Here it is:

Forgive me if I’m mistaken here but your reference to Hebrews 10:26,27 seems to imply that a Christian can lose their salvation and be judged worthy of Hellfire if they wilfully sin after receiving the “knowledge of the truth.” These verses are not talking about true believers though but are a warning about the sin of apostasy. Verse 29 talks of those that have trodden under foot the Son of God and have counted the blood of Jesus an “unholy thing.” What genuine believer would do that? Receiving the “knowledge of the truth” is different from receiving Jesus Christ as your saviour so this is talking about the unsaved, those that are aware of their sin and even make a profession of faith like Judas Iscariot for example, but then turn away and tread under foot the precious blood of Jesus. Spiritual rebirth though, is as irreversible as physical birth and a saved Child of God cannot lose their salvation, it is bought and paid for, given as a free gift to us and ours to keep, simply by believing in and receiving Jesus in childlike faith so I’d have to disagree when you say: “Truth be known, if a Jew or a Christian denies God and steps out of His will, they will stand judged worthy of Hellfire” if that’s the case.

Greetings. Peace be with us. Good day to you.

With love: The Words written in Hebrews 10:26,27 are clear. It is for all who walked in obedience to God but then fell into sin, or willfully sinning which is iniquity and is KNOWN sin. You cannot break the law of God and think that your going to heaven. Christ did not come to earth so that we can continue in sin and do what we want. That type of preaching is the reason why the world is the way it is today. A true child of God (saint) will have corresponding works with who he or she professes to be in CHRIST. Romans 6:15-17, “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.” Revelation 22:14-15, “Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”  Romans 7:7, “What shall we say then? [is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.” 1 Samuel 12: 23-25, “Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great [things] he hath done for you. But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.”

There has always been two paths in this world: heaven bound or hell bound, righteous or unrighteous, commandment keepers or commandment breakers…so, which one is going to heaven?

Answer: Matthew 7:21-23, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Iniquity is known sin. There are many people in the world today who have been taught by false teachers that it is okay to break the law of God and your going to heaven no matter what, just believe and that is it. That is false. That is just what the devil wants people to believe. The devil was cast out of heaven for sinning against God and breaking His law, Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden for sinning against God, Noah saw the world cast into a flood for them not turning from their sins, Sodom was destroyed for their sins, king Saul was destroyed for his unrepentant sins, the Jews were removed by their REJECTION (sin) of Christ, and until this day, nothing has changed because God does not change. Malachi 3:6, For I [am] the LORD, I change not.

Most people don’t realize that they have been lied to by the TV, RADIO, MOST CHURCHES (This is true!), STREET PREACHERS and such.  Does not the Word of God warn us of this:

Matthew 24:24, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Matthew 13:22, “For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if [it were] possible, even the elect.”

Acts 20: 29,30, “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”

Well, look around you. These ministers of unrighteousness (sin) are everywhere.

How can we detect them?

Isaiah the prophet is clear, “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.” Isaiah 8:20.

But of course, most people are going to believe what is written because they want to please the flesh and feel good about it being okay to break the law of God and think they are still going to go to heaven after receive the knowledge of the truth. Once you have been the light regarding your obedience to God in obey His ten commandments and you choose not reject that, then there will be no more sacrifice remaining for you or anyone. They will be left to bear their own cross and suffer for their own sins when He returns.

We must “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19.

Oh yeah, by the way, want to give you some comfort… (Thanks Craig!) as Christians, or anyone else in the world who may never have a chance to know absolute truth the Bible offers, we are judged according to the light we have received. We are judged by what light we have been given and how we have walked in that light. So if anyone who is sleeping in the graves, waiting for the Lord’s return, and did break the commandments of God because that is what they were taught, but yet did not know that it was wrong, they will not be judged by that light. That is the mercy and love of God, but once you receive the knowledge of the truth and you fail to walk in it and be obedient to God by observing His commandments, the Word of God is clear in Hebrews and in Romans 6:23. For the wages of sin is death. We can be obedient to God if Christ is living with us. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to deny the flesh which is sin and yield to the Spirit which is life and righteousness. The law does not save us, but Jesus Christ saves us by the cross an what He did on the cross and if we TRULY receive the cross, then we will be obedient to GOD. The cross does not give us a free pass to continue in sin. God forbid. Romans  6:1-2, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”

We shall be known by our fruits of obedience to Him or our disobedience to Him. Matthew 7:16. Just thought I would add to bring you the love of God. Peace.

Karen: (I don’t normally quote a ton of verses at people but this guy sure does like his verses so on this occasion…)

Thank you for your thorough response here! Just to clarify my original comment. I agree with ALL that you are saying in this video regarding Israel. It’s just your interpretation of Hebrews 10:26-29 that I disagree with as it’s my belief that it’s warning against the sin of apostasy. Those that move towards Jesus, hear and fully understand the Gospel message that Jesus is the Son of God, the only way to salvation, but then reject what they have heard and make a deliberate and conscious decision to turn away. They reject God’s mercy and everlasting forgiveness, they never entered fully into the Kingdom of Heaven through Jesus which is the door and therefore are separated from His perfect love. This is true of the nation of Israel that refused to be governed by the Sovereign of the Universe and were on a gradual degenerative path of apostasy culminating in their eventual rejection and murder of their very Messiah for whom they had waited across the centuries. Despite their spiritual advantages, they became for the most part, an utterly renegade nation. Jesus, in the symbolism of the Scriptures describes them as a fruitless, withered tree, worthy of nothing more than being cut down ( Psalm. 90:6; Hosea. 9:16). “Withering” was a symbol of imminent death (Joel 1:12).

So I reiterate again that yes, I agree with this video. As for true Christians (saints), Jesus knows you’re not perfect and never will be and He loves you just the same! When He forgave you for your sins, He not only forgave your past sins but your present sins and those you will yet commit as well. None of us deserve to go to Heaven. The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “There is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin” (Ecclesiastes 7:20). “There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). Anyone who thinks they’re good enough to make it to Heaven on their own is only kidding themselves and they will miss out on God’s greatest gift. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8).

You can’t be good enough. You can’t earn salvation or work your way to Heaven and it’s not by blood but by faith. “By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us” (Titus 3:5). You can keep yourself in line for more of God’s blessings by trying your best to please Him and do what’s right but you can’t keep yourself saved! Jesus did that once and forever. Eternal life is not a sometimes thing—saved and lost and saved again, every time you make a mistake and say you’re sorry. There’s no such thing! Once you’re saved, you’re saved forever! Of course, if you wilfully do wrong once you’re saved and don’t repent and make things right, you’ll suffer for those sins in some way. The Lord will have to let you reap the bad results so you’l learn a lesson. “For whom the Lord loves He chastens” (Hebrews 12:6). But even then, for those that have true salvation in Jesus, you cannot lose it!

Love & Peace to you!

(He shared his testimony with me and a whole lot of verses too!)

Hello. Allow me to explain Hebrews 10 by my testimony.  I was once deep in the world, but always believed in Jesus because I always heard his name from my grandmothers words. Just His name being stated to me was my grandmother ministry. That was the light that I had received. I just knew that He was God. That was the light I had to understand and walk in at that time which I did.  She was Methodist. She went to church on Sunday, but she did not know that the Sabbath of the Lord is Saturday, but she is not going to be judged by that because she had not the knowledge that this is so. She taught me to attend to church on Sunday. That was the next ounce of light that I had which I walked in for a while. Apart from that, I grew up in the world. As I grew up, my friend really introduced to me more knowledge about God in the Baptist Church there in Texas. Though this light was not true, this is what I was taught: They taught once your saved your always saved and will make it to heaven. I, at first, wanted to stop drinking, stop playing football which was my life, separate from my girl friend who did not want to accept Jesus as the head of my life, and stop doing everything in my life that was not good. I naturally wanted to do that but because of this once saved always saved, just believe and that is all you have to do to make it to heaven, I went back into the world and my life got worse because I rejected the light from God that I He pressed upon my heart that I should obey Him rather than do the things of the world. As many years went by, I started to search for myself because I was tried of the world and the so called churches today and their prosperity message that has nothing to do with the gospel of Christ bettering ones life here on this planet. As I started to read the Bible, I realized something was very wrong with the teachings today. It is true what Matthew 24:24 says about MANY FALSE Teachers and such would arise. Truly they are everywhere. One day, the mark of the beast truth came to me. Those who will receive the mark of the beast are those who love to sin and knowingly break the law of God, His Seventh Day Sabbath. The Sabbath is the point of truth for all Christians in the last day to come to the knowledge and walk in it or not. If we choose not to do so, Hebrews applies to all.

When Seal of God Is Refused.–If the light of truth has been presented to you, revealing the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, and showing that there is no foundation in the Word of God for Sunday observance, and yet you still cling to the false sabbath, refusing to keep holy the Sabbath which God calls “My holy day,” you receive the mark of the beast. When does this take place? When you obey the decree that commands you to cease from labor on Sunday and worship God, while you know that there is not a word in the Bible showing Sunday to be other than a common working day, you consent to receive the mark of the beast, and refuse the seal of God.–Review and Herald, July 13, 1897.  {Ev 235.2}

As a Result of Disregard of Light.–God has given men the Sabbath as a sign between Him and them, as a test of their loyalty. Those who, after the light regarding God’s law comes to them, continue to disobey and exalt human laws above the law of God in the great crisis before us will receive the mark of the beast.–Letter 98, 1900.  {Ev 235.3}

I gained more light in my life regarding the evidence found in the Bible that we, as Christians, cannot serve two masters. We cannot serve sin and make it to heaven. Whenever a Christian learns of more light in the Bible we are called to walk in it and apply it to our lives, if we do not and we continue to disregard that light, we reject the Holy Spirit working in us and He will depart leaving us to our ways and eventually will die in our sins and bear our own cross in the end.

Christ says to all who don’t obey His Word, “why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” Luke 6:46. “If you love me keep my commandments.” John 14:15. “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”1 John 3:4. “let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.” 1 John 3:7-11.

How do we love one another that we have heard from the beginning? We have to go back to the beginning of the Bible and see what is written in the ten commandments. “He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.” Luke 10:26-28. “If thou will enter into life keep the commandments.” Matthew 19:17. The first four commandments teaches us how to love God supremely and the last six commandments teaches us how to love each other.

First 4 Commandments – How to love the Creator

  1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
  2. No graven images/Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them.
  3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.
  4. Seal of God (The commandment that proves He is our God and that we worship Him and love Him.) – “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

Numbers 23:20, “Behold, I have received [commandment] to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.” (We cannot change the Sabbath day in honor of his resurrection, or for any other reason.)

When is the Sabbath day of the Lord? Friday Sunset to Saturday Sunset. Luke 23.

Who was the Sabbath made for? “And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” Mark 2:27.

The Sabbath was not just written for the Jews alone, or for Israel alone, or for the Egyptians, or for in Africa, but it was a day set aside to commune with God, to fellowship with others and to WORSHIP GOD on the day that HE set apart for the HUMAN RACE, and no one has the authority to change that day to any other day as the false teachers and false prophets have done today. Not even God would change it because He blessed it. Malachi 3:6.

What happens to those who want to change the day and take not this commandment serious after knowing the truth? Exodus 31:15, “Six days may work be done; but in the seventh [is] the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth [any] work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.”

  1. Honour thy father and thy mother. (Ephesians 6:1 “obey your parents in the Lord”)
  2. Thou shalt not kill.
  3. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
  4. Thou shalt not steal.
  5. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. (Don’t lie)
  6. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s belongings

What is His promise to those that keep His commandments? “And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” Exodus 20:6.

Christ sums up the entire 10 commandments in Matthew 22:37-38, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

What does the Lord say to those who teach the law of love (Ten Commandments) has been done away with at the cross? Matthew 15:17-18, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”

What is our reward for obeying God?

The Son of the Living God says in Revelation 22:12-15, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”

In conclusion, “We ought to obey God rather than men.” Acts 5:29.

Thank you for sharing your testimony! The thing is though, we’re not living under the law anymore! Paul preached sermon after sermon and wrote letter after letter showing that the old Law was finished, it was done with! The Mosaic Law is done away with for the Christian who is living under grace and under God’s Law of Love! “We are now delivered from the Law, that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter of the Law. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law! And all things are lawful to us!” (Romans 7:6; Galatians 3:13; 1Corinthians 6:12) The Ten Commandments are NO LONGER the law for the followers of Jesus! God only has one Law now for Christians: The Law of Jesus, the Law of Love, “to love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and thy neighbour as thyself!” (Matthew 22:36-39) That’s what Jesus said! He then shocked the legalist Pharisees by continuing to say, “On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets!” (Matthew 22:40) They had literally thousands of complicated, ritualistic, restrictive religious laws, but Jesus told them that they now only needed two: Love God and love others! He said, “In this is the whole Bible!” Jesus said that this one simple Law, Love, is all the Law as well as all the Prophets! That takes in the entire Old Testament, “the Law and the Prophets”! Jesus said that’s the whole works, the whole Bible, that’s all the Law you need – Love! This proclamation of liberty infuriated the legalistic Jews of Jesus’ day and their self-righteous religious leaders who prided themselves in being followers of the Laws of Moses. They cried out against Jesus’ doctrine, saying, “This is against Moses and against the Law!” (Acts 6:13,14; 21:28) And they were right! This was the most raging religious controversy between Jesus and the Jews! It was also the most raging controversy between St. Paul and the legalists, the “Concision”, the “Circumcision”, converted Christian Jews who said, “Yes, we now believe in Jesus, but we still have to keep all the old Law, the Ten Commandments, the Sabbath, the Mosaic Law etc!” (Acts 15:1,5)

I’m afraid, we still have many Christians with us today who are just like those legalistic Concision members of the Early Church! They’re not completely enlightened, they don’t realise that Jesus is enough, that His grace is sufficient, that His Love is all we need. They’re still preaching the Mosaic Law with one hand while preaching Christ with the other! But according to Jesus Himself, God’s children today are no longer under the Laws of Moses! We are under grace and under Love! For us the old Law is gone forever! We now only have to keep Jesus’ Law of Love, God’s only Law – LOVE! The Laws of Moses are no more binding to the believer in Jesus! We are to “Stand steadfastly in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and do not be snared again in the yoke of bondage” to the Mosaic Law! (Galatians 5:1) “For all the Law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself!” (Galatians 5:14) Think about it! ALL the Law is fulfilled by ONE new and glorious commandment: LOVE! “Therefore, do to others what you would have them do to you; for this is the Law and the Prophets!” (Matthew 7:12) We are to “Owe no man anything, but to love one another: For he that loves his fellowman has fulfilled the Law!” (Romans 13:8) If you have love, you have everything! You are fulfilling all the laws of God! God’s only Law is Love! There is now no other law, no Mosaic Laws, no church laws! Those laws don’t even exist any more as far as we’re concerned! They are only to regulate the ungodly, as He says in 1Tim.1:9, and by which the unrighteous who are violating God’s Law of Love will be judged. “God is Love” (1John 4:8), and for those who are filled with His Spirit of Love, love is the only rule! “For if you are led of the Spirit, you are not under the Law!” (Galatians 5:18) If you love one another, anything the Lord leads you to do is perfectly lawful in the sight of God. As long as whatever you’re doing is in love and not hurting anybody. As long as it’s done in Love, it keeps God’s only Law of Love!

Knowing and realising this does of course give us a lot of freedom. But in many ways His Law of Love is actually the most binding Law of all because God’s Law of Love not only says you can’t do bad things to others, it says that you’ve also got to love everybody! So in many ways, the Law of Love is even more strict than the Mosaic Law! The Ten Commandments said that we were just to do that which was just and righteous, “Thou shalt not worship other gods, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal etc. etc.”- All negative! But under Jesus’ Law of Love we are to have more positive Love than mere justice and righteousness, we are to have love and mercy and forgiveness! So although we are liberated from Moses and his laws, it’s not a selfish, reckless freedom wherein we are free to disregard our neighbours and act unkindly, selfishly and lawlessly to them! We are now obligated to not only dutifully not harm or hurt others because the Law says so, but we are to go beyond mere duty and be positively good to others because we want to, because we love them!

Love is greater than righteousness, and mercy is greater than justice! We are now to treat others with love, mercy and kindness. In the Mosaic Law there was virtually no forgiving, and it was “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”! (Exodus 21:24; Leviticus 24:20) Moses said that if someone knocks out your eye or tooth, you’re allowed to knock out theirs! But Jesus said, “Do unto others what you want them to do to you” (Matthew 7:12) – not just whatever they Do to you, but you should treat them the way you want them to treat you! This is God’s Love. Jesus gave numerous examples in the “Sermon on the Mount”, saying, “In the old Law it is written so-and-so, but I say unto you” and told them something entirely different! He said, “But I say unto you, love your enemies, forgive them!” (Matthew 5:38-44) That’s the Law of Love! Which shows it’s even greater and stricter than the old Mosaic Law! So Jesus’ Law is actually much stricter, much more difficult to keep – in fact, impossible without Jesus! If the old Law was impossible, then Jesus’ Law is even more impossible! That’s why He says, “Without Me, you can do nothing!” (John 15:5) But He also says that we “Can do all things through Christ which strengthens us” (Philippians 4:13). For “His grace is sufficient for us, His strength is made perfect in our weakness!” (2Corinthians 12:9)

You can’t possibly keep God’s Law of Love without His Power, unless you’re saved and you have Jesus in your heart, the Spirit of God’s Love within you, to give you the power and the strength to love others even more than you love yourself! But once you have received Jesus, then His Spirit in you can help you to do the humanly impossible: Love God with all your heart and your neighbour as yourself!

This is not what I say, this is what the Scriptures say (look them all up) and Jesus Himself said. I have found that people often believe what they want to believe though. What more can I say? Peace & Love to you! (I almost gave up at this point!)

Craig: (Oh no! Not more verses!)

The Bible tells us what law was nailed to the cross and it pertains to that of the Sanctuary Services that point to the Saviour to come and NOT the Ten Commandments that Satan has been trying to destroy from the beginning.

Ephesians 2:15, “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace;”

Colossians 2:14, “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;”

There is no mention of the Ten Commandments. IN FACT, Jesus said, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Matthew 5:17-18. Not one ounce of the law was to be destroyed, but fulfilled. Fulfilled does not mean done away with. It means to KEEP the law as Christ did. John15:10, “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”

Paul never stated once that we are to break the Ten Commandments. Paul said, “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” Romans 6:15-16.

Who is going to make it into heaven?

Revelation 22:14, “Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

Last thing, if the law was ever to have been done away with as the world proclaims then JESUS should have said it before HE DIED, BUT seeing that HE did not, HE SEALED IT WITH HIS BLOOD.

Hebrews 9:16-17, “For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.”

Serve Satan in breaking the Ten Commandments or Serve God in obedience is the test for every single soul that has, is and will walk on this planet. Eternal reward will not be granted to anyone who willingly breaks the law of God. Thank you.

Karen: (Let’s try another approach! Ditch the verses and put it in plain and simple terms!)

This is how I see things and I’ll just put it simply here. We have Ten Commandments given to us by God. These Ten Commandments pretty much sum up to the average human being what is right and wrong. The average person knows that if they don’t keep these Ten Commandments, then they are doing something wrong in God’s eyes which we call sin. Well, let’s be fair here, the average person would agree with some of these Commandments because they bring law and order to the land and bring us into a more civilised world or not. Although of course, you would definitely conclude that most people would have a problem with Commandments One, Two, Three and Four and any other Commandments that directly involve God which of course they all do so this in short makes most people in today’s world sinners in that they are already breaking Four of God’s Commandments. People clearly think and feel that these Commandments are a bind to them and they don’t wish to have governments unto God, they wish to be a law unto themselves. So clearly we have a world where people cannot even keep the Ten Commandments of God and they cannot even keep the laws that they choose themselves, which begs the question – just why is it that mankind cannot keep God’s Ten Commandments or even his own laws? The reason being, I’m sure we would both agree on, is that man is a prisoner to his own fleshly lusts, he loves the world more than he loves God, he loves himself more than he loves other people. In leaving God out of the picture, he is already unbalanced and excessive. He finds he has an empty aching void in his heart that has to be filled but instead of hungering after God and filling this void with the spiritual things of God, he chooses to hunger after the world and fill his heart with the things of the world. This leading him further and further into sin and the breaking of every Commandment, simply because his hungry heart cannot be satisfied with the things of the world no matter how much he consumes in his consumer societies. So man clearly cannot find his way out of all of this evil and wrongdoing by putting his own two and two together and relying on his own strength. He has not the wisdom, not the love, nor the strength of his own will to stop himself from doing evil.

With all of this in mind, some people look into religious solutions to all of these problems and a lot of people truly realise that it all boils down to the need to ,as it says, “create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me” or as Jesus says we clearly need to be born again. Born again into the Kingdom of God and as becoming a Son of God and a citizen of God’s Kingdom and not a citizen of this world; choosing that God be our Father and for ourselves to be His sons & daughters. This purely from the standpoint as Jesus said in Luke 14:26 “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, ye, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” I think true salvation comes to people who truly understand what this verse is saying. You reach a point in your life when you realise that you are so totally and utterly selfish that you can’t even love even your own family. You have found that the things of the world have left you totally and utterly empty, you have found that no matter how hard you try you cannot stop breaking God’s laws. You may even have tried as hard as you could but you still cannot keep God’s laws or even man’s laws or even your family’s laws. You are utterly selfish and cannot be a true citizen of this world, let alone a citizen of God’s world. You then get to realise that you need a saviour to save you out of all this; someone who can come into your heart and help you to do the loving thing purely because you want to and not because you have to. When you ask Jesus into your heart you find you want to do the right thing, you want to love God, you now find God, in loving God, you now find Jesus, in loving other people and you now want to keep his Ten Commandments plus ONE being the eleventh commandment. John 13:34 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” The eleventh commandment which can even overrule the other Ten in certain situation as Jesus showed by healing on the Sabbath. When Jesus healed on the Sabbath, you do wonder if He was even keeping the Sabbath on one particular occasion. I choose to believe that He was when He healed a woman with a bent back Luke 13:10-17 (Jesus was teaching in a synagogue) so this showing us that the Law of Love brings all the other commandments into balance and the gift of salvation also brings us into balance with God’s eleventh commandment, including the other ten.

Jesus understands that we will keep making mistakes until the day we die but we will not lose our salvation because of these mistakes. If we could lose our salvation when we make mistakes then you would surely have to agree that there isn’t one person on this earth that can ever be saved! God is a loving God, a forgiving God that sent His only begotten Son into the world to pay the full penalty for wrongdoing and if we receive Jesus into our hearts then we can never ever cease to be one of God’s children. We can never ever cease to have Jesus in our hearts, He will always be there to help us do the right thing, He will always be there to help us keep God’s Ten Commandments with the eleventh commandment of Love, bringing these into balance with Love and not into the imbalance of sin without Love. After receiving salvation, if we do choose to break God’s eleventh commandment of love which takes in the Ten Commandments we will NOT lose our salvation but we will suffer the consequences of being unloving. Even more so now because we should know better, so yes, you can still suffer for wrongdoing after you are saved, you can seriously suffer in fact but you CANNOT lose your salvation – Jesus will always be in your heart and will NEVER leave nor forsake you – He will in NO WISE cast you out. You will not cease from being one of God’s children!

Thanks to you also. It is always good when believers can keep things friendly and a good witness also. TYJ! (He decided to leave it there! We didn’t manage to change each other’s views but we did at least manage to keep it friendly!)

Following on from that…Here’s a nice positive response I received from another brother!

Amen sister! The Apostle Paul told them that even he is carnal even though he had seen Christ… So what he lost his salvation? II don’t think so… I totally agree with all 3 comments. We are saved by grace through faith.. Once we are saved the good works come from our heart.. not to please God but because the Holy Spirit dwells within us.. It comes naturally.. We know what is right and what is wrong.. but if we sin we have an advocate, Jesus Christ..  but we have to repent and ask for His forgiveness and make it right what ever we did as soon as possible..Don’t get me wrong I love this channel he is awesome but we can’t save ourselves ,we can try to shun sin during our walk with Christ because we love Him and try to please Him but not to be saved.. once we are saved we are always saved…  I’m talking about born again Christians…  Our works are the fruits of our salvation… not the root…  but if we don’t teach them or keep His commandments we will be called the least in heaven..  God bless you and all who believe in Jesus Christ. (How sweet of him!)

“Our works are the fruits of our salvation…not the root.” Very well put in a nutshell!! If righteousness comes by the law (keeping the Ten Commandments) then Christ is dead in vain. The Ten Commandments points to the sad fact that we are oh so human. So much so that God sadly said that He regretted making man. Mankind’s only hope is Christ in you (us) the hope of Glory. When God sees Jesus in us, old things are passed away, old regrets are passed away and all things are become new, we are all new creatures in Christ Jesus. We are no longer what the devil turned us into – servants of sin and misery – but we have now become servants of God and in happiness. Happiness that comes from truly loving God and others, so much more than the duty bound laws of the Ten Commandments. Jesus truly loves God and gave Him his all, with Jesus in our hearts, we can give God our all too. Without Jesus it’s all duty and no love. God bless you too and have a nice day! (End of discussion)

2 Responses to How To Disagree With Someone And Not Fall Out!

  1. Nice post. I have a couple of friends who are Seventh Day Adventists and they are definitely good people. Your never going to fully agree with everyone on everything when it comes to Bible doctrine, but I think we just need to focus on what we do agree on. Good job Karen.

  2. Simple Truth says:

You managed to wade through all that then ha! Thanks for reading anyway and yes, I agree that we cannot fully see eye to eye on everything because we are all different people; the vital ingredient in any relationship though has to be that you detect that Jesus is in it, there has to be the spiritual connection because otherwise you will not be able to make any ground with that person, in fact, you will lose ground. I also have a kind of a distant friend that is a Seventh Day Adventist, she is a really nice person and I couldn’t speak a bad word against her but if I’m to be totally honest and true here, then I would have to say that what makes our friendship distant is not the fact that we disagree on things but that the vital ingredient, that spiritual connection is missing, so therefore, we are rather like two magnets that repel sad to say. People need to realise this and this is why all of these churches uniting together in some kind of New Age as the Pope is trying to achieve at the moment will never work. They have a form of godliness but are denying the power thereof – without Jesus as coming from the right source then there is no love and they will only end up hating one another. Jesus said “He that is not with me is against me” – God will in no way compromise with us on this, it is up to us to go up to God’s level, only through Jesus, and to not try to bring God down to our level without Jesus. It’s all through Jesus through and through and through again! GBY
