Simple Truth| Is the Devil about to create an end-of-the-world scenario? When Jesus was in the wilderness, after fasting (not eating) for forty days and forty nights and was afterward an hungered, the Devil approached Jesus and said to Him, “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread” (Matt 4:3). It’s quite possible that what the Devil was actually saying is that he himself could very easily turn stones into bread, this proving in his mind that he was the special one and not Jesus. And when the Devil took Jesus up into the holy city and as it says “…setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple and saith unto him, if thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee: and in their hand they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone” (Matt 4:5,6), you again find yourself wondering: is this something that the Devil thinks is all about him, in that, one day in the distant future, the son of the Devil himself will have the Devil’s angels sent, if need be, to lift the son of the Devil up lest he dash his foot against a stone?
The problem we have with the Devil is that he thinks it’s all about him and not about Jesus. So when he took Jesus up ”…into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me” (Matt 4:8,9), you find yourself thinking that Jesus’ refusal in accepting this offer would have been no surprise to him, but instead it served to bolster his belief that Jesus is not “The One” but that he and his son is in this same sense, “the one”. Now if you look again at this verse and read exactly what it says, it talks of the Devil taking Jesus INTO an exceeding high mountain, so in this sense, we are reading that the structure of the Devil’s kingdom is pyramidical. Jesus in this sense was taken INTO the capstone, if you like, or INTO the peak of this exceeding high mountain.
It is interesting at this point, to look back to the days of Moses and how ”…Moses went up INTO the mount, and a cloud covered the mount” – (a cloud here symbolises the presence of God) – (Exodus 24:15), so again, in this sense, we have Moses talking to the Lord (Jesus) inside the top of a mountain. It is also interesting to read Exodus 24:10 where it talks of ”…the God of Israel: and there was under his feet a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.” So very interesting when you consider the paved work of a sapphire stone under the feet of the God of Israel; all of this taking place somewhere on (in) the top of a mountain and Moses somehow or other going INTO that mountain and surviving in this mountain and in the presence of ”…the LORD (Jesus) for forty days and forty nights without food or water” (Exodus 34:28). It goes on to say ”…And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.” So the interesting thing here is: the top of the mountain, the top of the pyramid, top office, top meetings taking place, and top matters on the table, so to speak. So, with all of this in mind: is there going to be another top of the mountain, top of the pyramid, top office meeting that is going to take place (or has perhaps already taken place) in the near future? There is a prophecy in the Bible that talks of a prince that is to come. This prince will not be the Prince of Peace (Jesus) but will be the very son of the Devil and not the Son of God. This prince that is to come will ”…think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand…” (Daniel 7:25).
Moses had the Ten Commandments given into his hands and the world has never been the same since, so as they say, a kind of a game changing event when Moses was given the Ten Commandments into HIS HAND. Jesus gave a famous sermon on the mount and again the world has never been the same since. On this same note of game changing events there is a new game changer that is to come who will also change the course of history and will also ”…think to change times and laws and they shall be given into HIS HAND…” So just who is this guy who shall think to change times and laws that are going to be given into his hand? The answer to that is: he will be the son of the Devil, who like Jesus, will be taken (or has already been taken) ”…up into an exceeding high mountain, and shown all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them:” and the Devil will say unto him, “All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me” (Matt 4:8,9). This guy, at this point, will say, yes please! Unlike Jesus who said, no thanks! So the Devil will be saying to this guy: “this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased!” – this btw is what God said to Jesus. So you kind of see how it is with the Devil; he likes to think he’s God and he sees all of these verses in the Bible in a kind of parallel light and in his light. He thinks he is the True Light whereas in reality, he is the darkness. He likes to think that he is The Anointed One, the real reality is that he was once the anointed cherub with an anointing that came from God but he was never The Anointed One. The Anointed One is the Messiah – the word Messiah means “The Anointed One:” Lucifer, the Devil, was the anointed cherub and got his wires crossed into thinking that he is “The Anointed One” and True Messiah and that Jesus is the imitator. The Devil refuses to believe that the Messiah (Jesus) has already come in the flesh. Anyone who refuses to believe that Jesus has already come in the flesh is into the spirit of Antichrist or in other words, is into the spirit of the “in place of Christ” who is yet to come in the flesh but he won’t be the “Word made flesh.”
Jesus said, “For false Christs and false prophets shall rise and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.” (Mark 13:22) All of these false Christs and false prophets invariably point to the spirit of the Antichrist or in other words, they invariably point to the ultimate false Christ who will be the actual, “in place of Christ” and Antichrist. So just how is this “in place of Christ” going to show us that he is Christ? In 2 Thessalonians 2: 9 it talks of ”…him, who’s coming is after the work of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.” St Paul had been talking back then to the Christians of his day; even back then they believed that Jesus was about to come but St Paul told them that that day wouldn’t come just yet because the man of sin (the Antichrist) hadn’t been revealed. He told them that he would be revealed when he comes with all power and signs and lying wonders.
Jesus told us of the signs that we should look out for, these telling us of his imminent return, but we have to remember when we read of all of the signs that are laid out in Matthew 24 and other places, that the Devil could just as easily imitate just about every sign. You and I might have some of those signs down as acts of God: take earthquakes as an example; you might have these down as acts of God but the real facts of the matter these days and with the advanced technology that mankind now has is that they could just as easily be created by man as inspired by the Devil. Without going into all the signs but just to name a few; whether it’s famine, pestilence, storms, seas and waves roaring, all can now be created through the Devil and his technologies as given to mankind via himself. So the big question here is: what if the Devil were to imitate all of these and so bring us all into an end-time scenario and a scenario where in it’s ultimate conclusion ”…He (the Devil) shall give his angels charge concerning thee (the Antichrist): and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone” (Matt 4:6)? This bringing us into a kind of a fake second coming of Jesus, appearing in the clouds with great signs and wonders!
